I spoke with Nels Cline on the eve of his visit to Melbourne for the International Jazz Festival.
Nels will feature in a solo set prior to the appearance of The Laughing Clowns at The Forum Theatre, Fiday May 1st.
The BBC featuring Nels, Tim Berne and Jim Black will also play at the Forum Saturday May 2nd at 8.30 pm as a lead up to The Bill Frisell Trio.

Tonight we open with music from Canadian and New York based bassist Chris Tarry, plus more from the Jamie Oehlers Double Drummer Group.
Our main feature tonight will be a 25 minute live piece from John McLaughlins 4th Dimension Live In Belgrade.
This is an awesome band with Gary Husband on Keys and drums, Dominique di Piazza on Electric Bass and Mark Mondesir on Drums.
